A small photographic glimpse into a few weeks in the Haines life with The Levitation Project Athletes Chris Coulter & Wyatt Caldwell.
The journey starts on the small connection from Juneau to Haines flying over the Lynn Canal straight into the first day out in the heli. The weather turns for the worst and the countless down days are spent in the hotel, bar and exploring the surrounding beaches and forests. After a small weather break a quick snowmobile session is spent in the vast terrain over the Canadian boarder on Haines pass. No better way to ends things than an epic northern lights show followed by a wall to wall blue day with an unreal sunset heli spine session.

Here is the first of many slideshow series I will be posting up. I just finally obtained a copy of FCP so this first one was a quick test of my zero editing skills. It has been way to long since I have messed around with any editing programs but I’m excited to get back into it. I really looking forward to creating and combining photos, dslr video and a smooth music track to help present and display my work in different style medium. I feel like you can give your photos a little more specific attention and feeling as well as combining a visual story of certain day or trip. I have been rummaging around through a lot of older files and have ton of more projects in the works.

This first quicky was from an hour or so shooting with Jeremy Thompson and Ty Emond at the Park City Superpipe. This is one of my favorite pipes to shoot and this particular day the sky was extra milky creating some really great toned black and white photographs.

I haven’t been excited to see a snowboard flick as much as I’m for this one! Going to be unreal!

Summer sure is cooking the heat these days.  Here is a little cool off.  POV on a powy December day last season.  All this takes is a fast five minute hike off the lift at Brighton and you got yourself some goods! Nothing better than fast frontside turns and riding with out the Angry Midget on my back.

Going up to Alaska for 14 days this past April was definitely the highlight of my season.  Valdez and Thompson pass has to be one of the most amazing places I have ever been. The things I learned and experiences I had blew away any thing else I have ever done in my 13 years of snowboarding.  My only regrets being not snowboarding as much as I would have liked.  But every one I shot sure got some and more.  I was stoked to just watch, shoot and have the chance to be in this incredible place.  Hopefully someday I will make it up there again!

Standard just put a preview/teaser for their new movie “Aesthetica”. I always enjoy watching every movie standard makes from TB5 to Paradox. This year especially looking forward to the return of Johan and his noboarding, Ladvik’s shots will no doubt be killer and most of all I cant wait to see Lonnie’s part! Lonnie and is the man..nothing but love for him. Plus, gotta love the old Metallica, doesn’t get better than that! Nothing worse than an amazing snowboard part with some horrible music… Last year the techno/electro pussy music fad in most of the videos was horrible…. This teaser gives me some hope for this next batch of videos soundtracks..Everybody needs some more metal in their life!
