Summer sure is cooking the heat these days. Here is a little cool off. POV on a powy December day last season. All this takes is a fast five minute hike off the lift at Brighton and you got yourself some goods! Nothing better than fast frontside turns and riding with out the Angry Midget on my back.
Check out a shaky (no tripod) video I took from my trip to Alaska this past April. It gives a small glimpse of the 360 degree Mountain view right off the road before entering the heart of Thompson pass. Our heli staging zone was just below where this video was taken and at .13seconds of the video you can see the zone called “the books” where we rode.
I filmed a bunch more stuff from AK so stay tuned for a few more of these short videos coming soon!
Going up toAlaska for 14 days this past April was definitely the highlight of my season. Valdez and Thompson pass has to be one of the most amazing places I have ever been. The things I learned and experiences I had blew away any thing else I have ever done in my 13 years of snowboarding. My only regrets being not snowboarding as much as I would have liked and not being able riding a true AK line for myself. But every one I shot sure got some and more. I was stoked to just watch, shoot and have the chance to be in this incredible place. Hopefully someday I will make it up there again!
We broke the trip in to two featured stories. Part One being all snowmobile accessed zones on Thompson Pass and Part Two being all zones accessed by a heli. Click below to check out my photo galleries and the very smooth edit by Mark Dangler from the SNOWREV AK trip.
Superpark post just went live! Despite all the carnage I had a good time shooting as well as witnessing a lot of super things go down. Thanks again to Bridges for letting us in! Check the video and full photo galleries below.

This past summer I have really gotten into rocking climbing. It such a pure and powerful sport very similar to snowboarding. In both you use balance, strength and movement to stomp a seven in powder or send a hard route. I have shot and watched Lonnie Kauk climbing for a couple years now and its amazing to see him to climb the shit he does. It definitely runs in his blood since his dad Ron is a Yosemite legend. Ron has put up some of the hardest routes in Yosemite two of them being in the video below. Really great inspiration to watch.
Just finished up the Day in the Life with Cody Rosenthal so be sure and check it all out… NOW! Watch the video below and HERE to see my photo gallery of the day. Mark Dangler aka Dark Manger is the man when it comes to everything video. He made a great edit and hopefully there will be plenty more Day in the Life‘s to come this season. Stay tuned!

Standard just put a preview/teaser for their new movie “Aesthetica”. I always enjoy watching every movie standard makes from TB5 to Paradox. This year especially looking forward to the return of Johan and his noboarding, Ladvik’s shots will no doubt be killer and most of all I cant wait to see Lonnie’s part! Lonnie and is the man..nothing but love for him. Plus, gotta love the old Metallica, doesn’t get better than that! Nothing worse than an amazing snowboard part with some horrible music… Last year the techno/electro pussy music fad in most of the videos was horrible…. This teaser gives me some hope for this next batch of videos soundtracks..Everybody needs some more metal in their life! -AM
Lately certain companies and people feel its ok to take copyrighted and watermarked photos off the internet and use them for advertising and other things. This makes no sense to me how you can take someone photo off a website, open in photo shop, clone over the watermark and use it for your companies ad and think its completely ok. Not to mention when the photographer finds out, sends an invoice over and the company tries every way possible to get out of it paying it. First off its stealing second thats your work and you have to get paid for it.
This has happened to me 4-5 times in the past two months and its complete bullshit. I’m rather new to the whole business side of things and I know every photographer deals with this crap but I just don’t understand how people can steal your work or try and get it for free thinking its ok? Boggles my mind… This crap happens in every type of industry. Everybody wants something for nothing. Photogs fill out your copyright and metadata!
Below is a pretty good video of Harlan Ellison on the subject. Watch it.
