Transworld Nov. 2011 – Snowbird Utah Breakdown with Forrest Shearer

Last season was a total blur of powder at this place. I have never had a better winter in my life! There is only a handful of shredders that really know every single bump, cliff, chute and line on this mountain and Forrest is one of them. Definitely one of the best people to follow around the bird on a nuclear day if you can keep up him…. but you probably can’t. Forrest gives a quick breakdown of a few good lines off the Cirque in the new TWS November issue. Go check it!

- It took me a litte over an hour skin to get this shot from just under little Superior across the canyon. Let just say the run down was totally worth it!

I spent a little over two straight seasons from 07-09 covering every major snowboard contest in the US from the Dew Tour, X Games, US Open and whatever fell in between. During that period I defiantly gained a ton of knowledge and figured out my camera enough to take a decent photo. Shooting those bigger events can be pretty hectic and draining from just being able to get in, finding multiple unique angles, while trying to create a cohesive gallery and capture all the action. Not to mention going straight back to your hotel room editing, writing captions and uploading your images to whatever online publication your working for, all in a race to be the first one to post your article. In those two years I always was stoked whenever Scotty would drop in because I enjoyed watching him ride and knew I could always get a good shot. He might not be on the podium at every event but hands down has one of the best styles around. From this article looks like most of his peers would agree!

ESPN ACTION JUNE ZOOM GALLERY | Chris Coulter AK

ESPN just published their monthly action sports ZOOM gallery and I’m very pleased to be apart of the June online issue. The image was taken during my first trip to Haines this past winter. Not a lot of people really know or realize some of the lengths or exposure you put your self in to get shots in Alaska. In this particular zone we were lucky enough to get some last minute insider info on an angle closer to the face that required an intense billy goat over a knife ridge, where falling was not an option. The hike to the angle took us about 30 minutes and I was pretty puckered the whole time. But Nico (Nolan) LP filmer and myself finally found a comfortable spot on the meter wide ridge and got ready for the amazing show in front of us. The crew slaughtered face riding three lines each and we ended with up some amazing images and footage. So thanks to every one who helped make it all possible… Will Wissman, SEABA, Nico Nolan, Levitation Project, Wyatt Caldwell, Matt our guide and Coulter!
