Last season was a total blur of powder at this place. I have never had a better winter in my life! There is only a handful of shredders that really know every single bump, cliff, chute and line on this mountain and Forrest is one of them.  Definitely one of the best people to follow around the bird on a nuclear day if you can keep up him…. but you probably can’t.  Forrest gives a quick breakdown of a few good lines off the Cirque in the new TWS November issue.  Go check it! 

- It took me a litte over an hour skin to get this shot from just under little Superior across the canyon. Let just say the run down was totally worth it!

Blisss Mag just spit out another issue this month featuring an interview with Chris Coulter.  Coulter continues to crushes it as usual and I have been fortunate enough to spend a bunch of early mornings following him around the Wasatch as well as sharing a few epic days heli shredding in Alaska.  This homie is a machine in the mountains and there is no one else I rather skin behind than him!!  Be sure to pick up a free copy or flip through the online issue  HERE.

Blisss Magazine just dropped their May issue featuring an interview with the big swiss boss Jules Reymond. Glad to see him getting some love as well as its a pretty funny read. Shred NW Magazine just dropped their newest winter issue and I’m stoked to have a feature article inside!  A quick Alaskan breakdown from trips to Haines, Valdez and Alyeska with LEVITATION riders Chris Coulter, Wyatt Caldwell, Jeremy Thompson and Jules Reymond.  You can flip through the online version HERE or pick up a copy at any local snowboard shop.

I spent a little over two straight seasons from 07-09 covering every major snowboard contest in the US from the Dew Tour, X Games, US Open and whatever fell in between.  During that period I defiantly gained a ton of knowledge and figured out my camera enough to take a decent photo.   Shooting those bigger events can be pretty hectic and draining from just being able to get in,  finding multiple unique angles, while trying to create a cohesive gallery and capture all the action.  Not to mention going straight back to your hotel room editing, writing captions and uploading your images to whatever online publication your working for, all in a race to be the first one to post your article.  In those two years I always was stoked whenever Scotty would drop in because I enjoyed watching him ride and knew I could always get a good shot. He might not be on the podium at every event but hands down has one of the best styles around.  From this article looks like most of his peers would agree!

ESPN.com just dropped a interesting article “Off the Clock” featuring a ton of Pro Snowboarders and their hobbies off the snow.  Lots of good stuff in the gallery and I’m stoked to have two shots of Lonnie Kauk shredding snow and rocks! Check the gallery HERE.

ESPN just published their monthly action sports ZOOM gallery and I’m very pleased to be apart of the June online issue.  The image was taken during my first trip to Haines this past winter.  Not a lot of people really know or realize some of the lengths or exposure you put your self in to get shots in Alaska.  In this particular zone we were lucky enough to get some last minute insider info on an angle closer to the face that required an intense billy goat over a knife ridge, where falling was not an option.  The hike to the angle took us about 30 minutes and I was pretty puckered the whole time. But Nico (Nolan) LP filmer and myself finally found a comfortable spot on the meter wide ridge and got ready for the amazing show in front of us. The crew slaughtered face riding three lines each and we ended with up some amazing images and footage.  So thanks to every one who helped make it all possible… Will Wissman, SEABA, Nico Nolan, Levitation Project, Wyatt Caldwell, Matt our guide and Coulter!

Recent Gnarly Clothes Ad run in April issue of Blisss Magazine. Mr Nick Russell joining the ranks of the Gnarly Squad. Unfortunately right after the first photo was taken Nick hiked up for another round and blew his knee out. Already on the road to recovery I’m sure he will be back in no time stronger than ever! This was actually shot in the backyard of my house in Salt Lake sometime around the end of October.  Luke was posted up at the pad for a bit getting in some preseason shredding at the Bone Zone and Brighton.  It had been snowing all morning and we were all having one those super lazy couch days.  Luke was getting alittle stir crazy and decided gear up and get outside to make a snowman.  That turned into him dropping the roof and then the construction of a ghetto table jump. The Short and sweet of it…  This photo was made possible via; Roof drop in, broken table lip, grill, gas, Nick Russell, two talls of Busch, no shirt and a shifty.  Don’t always need to gnarliest action to get a good photo.  Having some fire is alway key.  Thanks Luke and Nick!
