Check a few from a mellow milky day up at Park Shitty last week. Thompson and Humpy were taking er easy still majorly jet lagged after coming back from the future aka Japan the day before. We also were able to catch a few pipe laps with Ty Emond before had take his kids back to shred school. Kind of a lazy day but the crew milked it for a couple of hours and then called it a wrap.
Whats with all this COMMOTION!!

The UAC & Snowbird Freeride Avalanche Summit
January 1, 2010 | Filed Under NEWS, PHOTOS, WEEKLY VISUAL | 1 Comment
This past December I had the chance to take the Utah Avalanche Center & Snowbird Free Ride Avalanche Summit. The two day course was geared towards advanced and professional riders looking to refresh or soak up some very valuable avey knowledge taught by some of best forecasters guides and pro riders in the nation. I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the course and can only help spread the awareness and encourage any one who already travels in the back country or is thinking about riding out of bounds to take a avey course or read up on avalanches because having a beacon, shovel and probe doesn’t mean shit. You need to know how to use these tools and understand the terrain your traveling in as well as being able to recognized all the red flags. This knowledge can save your life as well as your homies. Check out tons more photos and words over at LEVITATION.

Brighton pow POV
August 2, 2009 | Filed Under VIDEOS, WEEKLY VISUAL | Leave a Comment
Summer sure is cooking the heat these days. Here is a little cool off. POV on a powy December day last season. All this takes is a fast five minute hike off the lift at Brighton and you got yourself some goods! Nothing better than fast frontside turns and riding with out the Angry Midget on my back.

Lonnie Kauk Wicked Bender Echo Utah

Here’s a few snaps of Lonnie Kauk sending Wicked Bender 5.13b this past weekend in Echo Canyon Utah. He almost on- sighted this beast managing to red point the route second attempt. The dry wall at Echo offers some interesting afternoon climbing on embedded cobble stone right off the I-80. Just hope a train doesn’t roll by when your at a crux… this place is pretty damn noisy.
All photos shot with a canon G10.

Sugarhouse Park Firework Show 2009
July 5, 2009 | Filed Under PHOTOS | 3 Comments
I have never had the chance to catch any good firework shows without having to drive a long way, deal with insane parking and paying for tickets. Luckily this being my first year I have spent the 4th of July in Salt Lake we had a killer show right in our backyard. Armed with my Canon G10 and a table tripod we took a five minute walk down to Sugarhouse park, found a spot on the grass and enjoyed a rad show.
Uintas Ruth Lake-Flake, Rack and Repel

Just recently started broadening my climbing range rising above the Salt Lake Valley heat tramp one hour east to the high Uinta National Forrest. The cool, comfortable afternoon climbing temps at 10,000ft were perfect for sending allowing both Jamieson Stuart and myself to put a few more solid routes under our belts. Ruth Lake and the Good Medicine Wall immediately filled my top spot for crags I have climbed on so far. Here’s a few snaps from this past weekend stay tuned for lots more from this beautiful place.

Nick is a radical dude. He is one of my favorite riders I shot with this past season. Some people are naturally gifted with amazing and unqiue style. Nick is one of these lucky people. Shit just comes natural for this dude, I could spot him riding anywhere….. We hooked him up with a Five Minutes on the Revolution this week with a photo gallery from yours truly. Check it out mon! - I always enjoy re editing photos after a long period of time. This is a perfect example of a stock photo I had in color and I re edited it with one of my own lightroom presets. I’m very stoked the way it turned out. Nothing too special but, it gives a different vibe to the photo from the original color version. The park city pipe is great to shoot cause there is hardly any trees around leaving just pure sky frameage all day long!
WSC | Park City

So the World Superpipe Championships went down at Park City the other week. It was my first time shooting it and I was coming in to it thinking another pipe contest nothing really special… same people, same tricks different venue. Which for the most part was true but what made this pipe event different from the rest was how Park City handled the media. First off was a pass to the riders reception dinner the night before in the Legacy Lodge with free dinner, drinks and dessert. Secondly they only gave out a limited number of deck photo passes with made it mellow to shoot anywhere. Thirdly another amazing free meal right after men’s final of salad, mash potato’s, bread, cookies, veggies and their were two guys slicing your choice of meat right off bone for you followed by a free beverage bar. Talk about hooking it up… I was pretty stoked. Click below to see the rest of the photos from the WSC.
