I found my self shooting a lot of long exposures during our many nights staying on Thompson Pass, Alaska. On the clear nights the stars were out in full force and the mountains stood tall glowing under the moonlight creating an amazing luminous frozen landscape. Despite the cold I would try and stay out as long as I could shooting and waiting for a chance to capture the Northern Lights but mother nature decided against giving me the famous show, which was a bummer. Unfortunately not having a remote trigger or a timer remote controller I was left with my in camera 30 second exposure. Although I wasn’t able to get some really long exposures I was happy with what I was able to get under the time limit circumstances. Below are just a couple of my favorites from the trip including the first photo set of multiple self portraits taken around the ABA base camp where I popped myself with my g10. Second photo is of the Moon rising over The Books Mtn Range and the third photo a panoramic shot of ABA base camp under a full moon.

Not a whole lot going on around here expect lots and lots of snow. I had a deep powder day at Brighton yesterday that seemed like it was in January or something. Right now they have around a 140 inch base, everywhere out of bounds is completely untracked and holding deep snow… not to mention tonight its supposed to puke another 10inches followed by another 4-5 the next day. A lot of people around here seem in “over it” mode and don’t really come riding anymore which means: Deserted resorts and lots of untracked new snow! Hey I’m not complaining…. Hopefully the weather is better tomorrow to shoot something or worst case scenario I have another pow day with no camera… No objections to that!
For now check out the best victory lap ever. Shaun White had two victory laps at the Open for slope and pipe and neither compared to how cool Bode’s was. Sequence of Bode Merrill stomping a frontside invert on the flaming log extension at the World Quarterpipe Championships last month. He got 1st place a mini bike and $1,000 in quarters…. Best contest ever!

This past Saturday Bear Mtn held the 1st ever etnies GvR battle of the stances. I made the drive from Mormon land to the sunny skies of SoCal to shoot the event. I must say it was probably one of best contests Bear has put on from the rider list, cash purse and course layout. I had a great time and I got to see and eat with my socal homies for life Jamotron and Curtis Gnarcore. Click the GvR pic to check out the Full Report on Snowboard Revolution.

After being on the road for the past three weeks I have finally had time to make a few changes to the SITE. Putting in some solid hours tonight I sort of did a “Soft Launch” to see how things were looking and working and I have to say I’m pretty stoked on the results being that I’m new to this all. That simple viewer was a tough one but I finally got it that figured out, customized to my liking and managed to put up tiny gallery for now. I have also been trying to find a new theme that works for this blog but have come up empty handed on all the stock options word press offers….. I need to learn how to start customizing and doing some major tweaks to get want I want on the blog or maybe I will just ask Chris N.
Man its good to be back in my own bed. I was all over the place for a minute and Jackson Hole was definitely the highlight of the past month. That place is ridiculous! Deepest and steepest snow I have ever ridden in my life!

- Stoked after dropping the infamous Corbits Colouir and then The Cave not to mention the chest deep turns I had come out of the Colouir.
