San Juan Scenics
June 15th, 2011 by AMI have been visiting the San Juan’s every summer since I can remember. Some of my earliest memories were in a old CJ-7 exploring the hundreds of jeep trails in and around Ouray, Silverton and Telluride. My dads side of the family roots run deep through this area dating back to the 60′s when my Grampa hand built a family cabin a hundred mines north of Ouray in the small town of Pitkin. I have no clue why it has taken me so long but this year I took my first real winter trip out to Silverton. I couldn’t believe what I had been missing out on all these years. It was a trip to shred and snowmobile the same zones I had been jeeping through since I was a young kid. The San Juan’s give of such a strong presence its hard not to love being there. I hope to make Silverton a staple in my winter schedule from here on out!

May 23rd, 2011 by AMMay 19 – 755 and counting
May 20th, 2011 by AMThe record breaking season of 755″ and counting here in Utah has been one for the books and snow is still continuing to stack up! Little cottonwood received some where around two feet of fresh in the past week and the storms just keep rolling in. Took a quick stroll to sample the new snow and it proved to be some fun deep turns…not to shabby for May 19th! The endless winter in the Wasatch continues!

The Right Light | PCMR – Joe Eddy
April 25th, 2011 by AMThrowing up a few from the archive today. I remember this being such a fun afternoon shooting in the Park City pipe. I showed up pretty late banking on the prime time for light being from about 3 pm to close. In usual fashion the sun provides some great back light on this pipe for a short a window of time, perfect enough to experiment with some light . I was trying to get a mix of flash, ambient back light and lens flare in the action photos and ended up with some unexpected results that I was pretty happy with! Here’s Just of few of my favorites of Joe Eddy from that particular session.

Terje Hip Session Snowbird Utah | Dan Brisse
March 28th, 2011 by AMLast April I got the chance to jump in the rotation for a Levitation Project/Absinthe/Snowboarder Mag shoot at Snowbird. The plan was to session an in bounds hip over on the little cloud/gad valley area of the mountain. This idea was spawned by the one and only Terje Haakonsen, who sent this beast el natural back in the day. Building from his inspiration the crew took a more man made approach stacking a huge lip to blast off. In order to get the thumbs up on this build was a long process and had been a couple years in the making. A huge thanks goes out to Nico Nolan, Shane Charlebois, Snowbird Patrol/ Marketing and Snowboarder/E Stone for making it a success! Couldn’t have asked for a better backdrop or spring session so close to home!
Enjoy some pixels of Dan Brisse that never saw much light of day.
In case you missed the online feature with the whole Levitation crew you can see it HERE.
