Photo update earlier this year that was posted on the Revolution. This was also my first trip out to Grizzly Gulch… Pretty fun day just exploring that place and checking out the endless possibles to hike and ride all over Little Cottonwood Canyon.
Grenade Games just went down last weekend here in Mammoth. It was a pretty raging time and I think the whole town is still recovering from it. We got a ton of positive feed back from lots of people about Snowboard Revolution and it feels good that everybody is liking what we are doing. Crosland and myself held it down both days and busted out a pretty solid photo heavy report. Check it all out.

Grenade Games 2007 | Summit at Snowqualmie, Washington:
This was a pretty good gig to say the least. I headed down for SLC around thanksgiving time straight to mission beach in San Diego. I got to shoot the rail jam for a couple hours and then the bikini show right after while my girlfriend was with me just unloading hundreds of shots with my telephoto. It’s crazy how death and sex are such popular topics. After we had posted this whole story to SNOWREV.COM the number and hits jumped huge…insanely huge on the photographers blog after the bikini gallery was posted. Pretty funny.. Here are the photos and story from the event. My mom didn’t really know what I was going down there to shoot and was pretty shocked when she saw all the photos… ha sorry mom.

Awhile back I did an Interview with Rob Mathis.. Super nice guy, great photos and true OG of snowboard photographers…. I mean he has been shootin photos while I was still in elementary school. He is coming out with a photo book of his best work from the past 10yrs should be really good. Click the photo to be bumped to his Interview: - AM “Almost anybody in the snowboard world can recognize his photos from the Resistance years and timeless urban captures with Jeremy Jones, JP Walker and the whole MDP crew. This weeks photo interview with the Utah based and amazingly talented Rob Mathis”
Just picked up the April issue of Blisss Magazine and it pretty much made my day/week/month… I would say this is one the best issues they have put out so far…. Great cover, bunch of good skate interviews and photos, three snow articles, Surf stuff, grip of photos of hot babes in tiny clothes and a rad artist interview. This mag is has pretty much something for everybody…. not to mention its free and bigger than normal size mags. I’m happy… goodnight.
You can see the whole issue of BLISSS online or pick up a free copy at your local skate/surf/snow shop.

Not a whole lot going on around here expect lots and lots of snow. I had a deep powder day at Brighton yesterday that seemed like it was in January or something. Right now they have around a 140 inch base, everywhere out of bounds is completely untracked and holding deep snow… not to mention tonight its supposed to puke another 10inches followed by another 4-5 the next day. A lot of people around here seem in “over it” mode and don’t really come riding anymore which means: Deserted resorts and lots of untracked new snow! Hey I’m not complaining…. Hopefully the weather is better tomorrow to shoot something or worst case scenario I have another pow day with no camera… No objections to that!
For now check out the best victory lap ever. Shaun White had two victory laps at the Open for slope and pipe and neither compared to how cool Bode’s was. Sequence of Bode Merrill stomping a frontside invert on the flaming log extension at the World Quarterpipe Championships last month. He got 1st place a mini bike and $1,000 in quarters…. Best contest ever!
All edges forward, Spencer Naess sliding through one of many log jams on the back side of Park City. PC is shutting down for the season a little over a week from today. Most all resorts here in Utah (besides Snowbird) will be closed by April 20th despite tons of snow….AND its still snowing just snowed like 14inches last night… So closing day at Brighton could be a pow day… Never experience that before. We will have to wait and see about that one. Coming time to migrate over to Mammoth for the rest of spring.
