Just got back to SLC from a jam packed week in Vermont. After a long layover plus three hour delay in JFK followed by a bumpy connecting flight we finally made it into Albany. Carter and I were picked up by Johnny in the SNOWREV rig but had to wait another hour for Lonnie Kauk to land.. we all piled in the car and headed out to Vermont rolling in to Stratton around 4 in morning. Four hours later we were up rolling to the Mountain for Slopestyle finals. Saturday marked Superpipe, Big Air and…….. I don’t feeling like writing anymore so check out the photos and reports below. ha

Bear Wide Open Video
March 27, 2008 | Filed Under NEWS, VIDEOS | 1 Comment
I made the trip down to Bear Mtn in Feburary for the Wide Open # 5. While my ankle was still sore from a hard slam I took in December (thanks to a buried rock in Mammoth) I decided to film for two days since there really wasn’t much to shot on. We all had a great time Kirk did like a million backies in a row, it was hot as hell and lots of jibbin was had. Mac Spedale spliced togeather all the footage into a nice little edit for the site. Check it below.
In other breaking news you can now embed any video off Snowboard-Revolution and post em up on your myspace, blogs, shlogs, phlogs, facebook or whatever you fancy is. Check it out dudes!

- Here was my view. Can’t tell there is a million other people around me. You can barely make out Crosland on the bottom right in Black.
WSC | Park City
March 20, 2008 | Filed Under PHOTOS | Leave a Comment
So the World Superpipe Championships went down at Park City the other week. It was my first time shooting it and I was coming in to it thinking another pipe contest nothing really special… same people, same tricks different venue. Which for the most part was true but what made this pipe event different from the rest was how Park City handled the media. First off was a pass to the riders reception dinner the night before in the Legacy Lodge with free dinner, drinks and dessert. Secondly they only gave out a limited number of deck photo passes with made it mellow to shoot anywhere. Thirdly another amazing free meal right after men’s final of salad, mash potato’s, bread, cookies, veggies and their were two guys slicing your choice of meat right off bone for you followed by a free beverage bar. Talk about hooking it up… I was pretty stoked. Click below to see the rest of the photos from the WSC.

Operation Pocket Wizard
March 13, 2008 | Filed Under NEWS | 3 Comments
Broke my Pocket wizard the other night. Everything was going great… everybody finished setting up the rail and I just got my lighting all good. While I was walking back to my spot reviewing my photos on my cameras LCD screen I tripped on a ice mound and fell camera first to the frozen concrete. I managed to take most of the blow to my elbow but my camera landed on side of the battery chipping it and my pocket wizard was smashed off the hot shoe….. I really cannot explain the sicking feeling that came over me since my pocket wizard was in pieces my battery was completely chipped. I didn’t even know if my camera still worked or if my 70-200L was cracked at all. Luckily only the pocket wizard was messed up and everything else was just scratched or that would have been a hefty replacement/repair bill. Anyways saved all the broken pieces and the other night I managed to fixed my transmitter… All I need some glue and extra small screw driver. Works like a charm!

2008 Vans Cup Wrap up

Following my week in Bro Cal myself and Carter headed out for the 8 hr-ish drive up to North Lake making just in time for the Rail Jam. The weekend went off with out a hitch we had a sweet pad right on the Lake in Tahoe Vista.. Having all your reservations before hand and getting a decent place WITH Wireless really makes for such a better stress free environment to get work done in. Unlike one our nights at the X Games with last minute check ins at the “Crack heads sleep here” Motel in Glenwood springs. We crammed three dudes in a tiny room that felt like you were going to get some kind of STD by sleeping in the sheets not to mention the multiple high school parties going on next door and down the hall….. geeez that was horrible.. never again. Back to Tahoe it was a good trip, everybody worked super well togeather and we banged out some solid coverage. booya!

Onboard Digital Mag Issue 4
March 5, 2008 | Filed Under NEWS | 4 Comments
Just got a email with a link to the new Onboard Digital Mag issue # 4. Onboard is primary a European print mag but they just started a North American online mag on its four issue. The guys over there do a great job on the layout out on each digital issue with animated sequences, great photographer info, video interviews and its all totally user interactive.. tons of crap to click, listen and watch… not to mention some hilarious stuff by J2.
This issue they have indepth interview with Terje on the Arctic Challenge, hilarious bit with MFM while not snowboarding and a great Volcom “never forget” JLA video. Maybe this will be the future of snowboarding magazines??? I sure hope not….Double page spreads just don’t look as good on a computer monitor but never the less Onboard does a great job. Check it out.

Kramer Update
March 3, 2008 | Filed Under NEWS, PHOTOS | Leave a Comment
Jeff Kramer is radical guy. After holding it down it the old Grenade shop Propagandhi in June for awhile he made the move to Alpine, WY. Alpine is a small snowmobile town 45 mins south of Jackon Hole where you will find more sleds parked outside the local bar than cars. I got a chance to shred and shoot with Kramer for a day while up in Jackon for the Natural Selection. We got some deeeep snow and a bunch of sick shots. Check out a update with Kramer and some photos I took from that trip on the Bataleon site. Also check out the Blue Bird Wax movie teaser which Jeff will be filming for.
